Hikutaia Hall Project: Donation approved
Westpac Helicopter: Donation approved
Linn Motors Apprentice: Donation for tools
Paeroa RYDA Day: Support for 100 local kids participating in the defensive driving course
🗣️ Two-Minute Speaker
John (T) may have treated the “two-minute” limit as more of a friendly suggestion—but when you’re captaining our next BIG fundraiser, that’s fair enough!
He’s leading the charge for the Rotary Paeroa Charity Golf Day on 3 May at Paeroa Golf Club, so lock it into your calendars now. Volunteers will be needed for:
Course set-up and pack-down
BBQ (braai) wizardry
Running the hole-in-one, longest drive, and closest-to-the-pin competitions
Overseeing the gambling hole
Shifting those all-important raffle tickets
🎤 Main Event – Guest Speaker
Our guest speaker for the evening was our very own Secretary, Lloyd Davies—presenting the new Constitution for Rotary Paeroa.
The Club must re-register under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, with registration on the Incorporated Societies Register required before 5 April 2026 (Easter Sunday). Failure to meet this deadline would mean the Club could no longer operate as an incorporated society.
The new Constitution has been drafted by Rotary and does not allow for amendments, other than inserting basic details such as the Club name. Alongside this, we are also expected to update the Club Bye Laws. While these do not need to be registered, it was agreed—in the interests of good order—that members should contact Lloyd to challenge or clarify any Bye Laws well before 10 March, so the Club can sign them off at the 10 March meeting.
Both the Constitution and the Bye Laws were emailed to all members by Lloyd on 31 January.
